Internet Starts in Assam After 10 Days


You all know, Assam has been protesting the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Due to this, mobile Internet services and communication were all shutdown for 10 days. The government has now resumed internet services. This is because, Assam’s Guwahati High Court ordered the Indian government to start internet in Assam. In accordance to the High Court’s decision the Government resumed internet services. Telecom services such as Airtel, Vodafone, Jio and BSNL have started their internet services. An official from Airtel said that since they did not receive any communication from the government, they resumed their services like everyone. Now that internet has resumed after the shutdown, people started receiving many messages and news. Since 10 days the internet was completely down, when it started there was a flood of messages. People said that since they received so many messages, the phone kept hanging and they had to restart the phone. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that, all Muslims livings in Assam are safe and will be fully supported. This is because it is their right. CM Sonowal said, all the people of Assam and Muslim people will be treated equally. The Assamese culture and language will be protected.
