Embedding PowerPoint into Moodle via Google Docs

This video will show you how to take a PowerPoint presentation and upload it into Google docs To make it into an embeddable object The reason that you would want to do this is because If you do this the student viewing your presentation does not need to download it and does not need to have PowerPoint installed on their computer to view your presentation If you are using office 2007 make sure when you save your PowerPoint that you do not save it as a .pptx file, which is the 2007 format, make sure that you save it as a .ppt file, which is the 2002 format Once you have saved your PowerPoint, and by the way this change to format should not make any difference to your presentation unless you have embedded videos in which case the videos will not play Now switch to Google docs, if you do not have gmail you will have to sign up for it to get access to Google docs Click on upload, browse to find your file Give your file a name and click on the upload button This is what your file looks like once it is up uploaded into Google docs, as you can see looks very similar to your original PowerPoint setting The next thing you want to do is publish and embed your presentation Click on publish document choose What size player you want You can also choose how quickly you want the slides to advance Copy the code Once you have the code you can paste it in any HTML editor In any HTML editor that you use you must switch to code view and then paste in the code The same is true in Moodle where I can paste this code into any HTML editor in code view I hope you will give this a try it is the best practice for putting PowerPoint into online materials undefined
